OriginRO takes cues from 🔄 RE:START (opens in a new tab)'s progression system with regular episodic updates, recreating the sense of discovery as new dungeons, monsters, and features unfold over time.
🌐 About Ragnarok RE:START
Ragnarok RE:START took players back to 2003 with a progression server that evolved monthly.
Players could relive the thrill of unlocking new content just like the original days of Ragnarok Online.
- Classic mechanics blended with modern quality-of-life features:
RODEX, Achievements, Replay System, Navigation, Costume System, and more.- A focus on the player-driven economy, rare item trading, and customizable gear/stat builds.
- Monthly updates introduced new classes, dungeons, and balance changes to keep gameplay fresh.
🌜 World of Dreams builds upon this foundation, offering a more refined Revamped-Classic experience for both veterans and newcomers.
⚙️ Game Mechanics Overview
OriginRO’s mechanics are a fusion of Classic systems with selective Renewal enhancements to create a balanced, yet nostalgic experience.
⚜️ Classic Mechanics:
- Static EXP Tables:
EXP from monsters is static, based on the classic database.- Rumored classic EXP curve (e.g., ~250 million EXP from 98→99 on World of Dreams).
- Adjusted leveling curves to provide a more balanced grind.
- Classic Monster HP & Stats:
Monsters retain their original HP, attack patterns, and stats from pre-renewal data. - Mob Scaled Attributes:
Attributes of mobs will be reduced and or increased (by 25-50%) as progress is made with content. Starting from low > mid > high end progression. This is to ensure RE mobs are properly scaled with player progression. - Field Spawns:
RE:START-inspired spawn locations with balanced drop rates and field mechanics. - PvP/BG/GvG Damage Reduction:
To ensure equal balance in classes, general damage will have a global reduction of (50-90%) applied to Player Versus Player, Battlegrounds, and Guild Versus Guild mechanics.

- Element Damage Tables:
Retaining the depth of element interactions for strategic gameplay. - ATK/mATK Mechanics:
Damage formulas based on Renewal calculations, balancing weapon and card effectiveness. - Hit/Flee Adjustments:
Modified mechanics using the formula:

[(Renewal Hit/Flee) - (X) = Adjusted Hit/Flee for OriginRO] - Defense & Healing Equations:
Defense values balanced to prevent extreme tankiness.
Healing formulas tweaked to offer rewarding support roles without overpowering INT scaling. - Casting System:
Fixed cast times removed for a smoother casting experience, encouraging diverse stat builds. - Gear & Weapon Refines:
Enhanced refining system allowing upgrades beyond +10 with improved rates. - Monster Drops:
Adjusted loot tables (e.g., Strawberry drops) for a balanced economy.

🛡️ WoE First Edition
- Availability: WoE First Edition will be introduced once there is enough community interest and will be
rotated based on player time zones for balanced participation. - GvG Damage Scaling: A global reduction (50-90%) will be applied to PvP, Battlegrounds, and WoE,
ensuring fair class balance. - Classic Castles & Siege Mechanics: Experience Pre-Renewal castle sieges, with adjusted defensive scaling
for engaging battles.
⚔️ WoE Second Edition
- Planned Release: Once Rebirth/Transcendent Classes are introduced, WoE Second Edition will be implemented
based on community input. - Rebalanced Siege Warfare: Improved castle defense scaling and enhanced guild-based rewards will ensure a
dynamic and competitive WoE scene. - Rotational Schedule: WoE SE availability will be determined by community feedback, ensuring an optimized
experience for all time zones.
