🔰 Getting Started

Meet Mom, one of the friendly custom characters designed exclusively for OriginRO to guide new players. Alongside her fluffy and loyal cat, Piper, she ensures newcomers feel welcome and have all the help they need to begin their journey.

Mom resides in Prontera and is one of the first characters you’ll meet when creating a new character, provided you don’t skip the tutorial. Occasionally, you’ll also find her during seasonal events, such as Summer Island festivities.

📍 Mom: You can visit Mom in her cozy home in Prontera, or easily locate her by using the
Warper: via Special Areas > Home.

This guide will introduce you to Mom’s tutorial, alongside 🐧 Shorty—a helpful in-game NPC that assists beginners up to level 71—and provide essential information about the World of Dreams. Shorty offers convenient services, including warps to important NPCs and 40-minute buffs to help kickstart your adventure!

🛏️ Waking up from a Dream

Mom, with the help of Shorty introduces new players to the basics of Ragnarok Online and highlights what OriginRO: World of Dreams has to offer.

⚬ Starting the Tutorial

• Step 1. Create a Character: After clicking Play, select Wake up from a Dream to begin the tutorial.

• Step 2. Shadow Figure: At the bed side, there lies a shadowy figure with a quest sign. This is the first NPC (Shorty disgused as a Shadow Figure), to talk to as soon as you're born.

• Step 3. Talk to Mom: You'll wake up late for your adventurer journey. Mom asks you to gather essentials before heading out.

• Step 4. Treasure Chest: You will see a treasure chest located beside Mom, click on it to retrieve
  your trusty Novice Main Gauche [3] (opens in a new tab) , Novice Guard (opens in a new tab) and Origin Scroll (opens in a new tab).

• Step 5. Equipment Closet: Click on the closet to retrieve your Novice Eggshell (opens in a new tab), Novice Adventurer's Suit (opens in a new tab), Novice Slippers (opens in a new tab), Novice Somber Hood (opens in a new tab) and Novice Figures (opens in a new tab).

• Step 6. Potions Crate: Click on the crate to obtain Novice Potions (opens in a new tab) and the Origin Care Box.

• Step 7. Begin Training Grounds: After talking to Mom and obtaining all of the new player items, head on over to the "World of Dreams" portal east of the home to begin your journey!

⚬ Choosing Your Path

• During all points of the tutorial, you may choose to warp to important locations via any of the beginner portals and or World of Dreams airship.
• You are encouraged to complete the Training Grounds tutorial which afterwards leads to the Criatura Academy north of Izlude, the satellite city.
• Explore Weapon Manuals in the Criatura Academy to try class-specific training weapons. Each weapon temporarily transforms you into the related class with sample skills. Test different options and finalize your decision with respective instructors inside of the academy.

⚬ Advancing Your Job

• Visit the Job Master in the 🏛️ Main Office (opens in a new tab). If you’re ready to advance, confirm your class choice. Receive a Beginner Mark [1] (opens in a new tab) (+1% EXP and Item Drop Rate),
  and a neat Ring of Experience (opens in a new tab) (+1% EXP from Brute monsters).
  🚩 Note: Alternatively, you may use the command (@main) to warp to the Main Office directly where the Job Master is located.

⚬ Joining the Eden Group

• To visit the Eden Group Headquarters (opens in a new tab), simply locate an Eden Teleport Officer.
  🚩 Note: Alternatively, you may use the command (@goeden) to warp to the headquarters directly!

🌟 Talk to Secretary Lime Evenor (moc_para01 27, 35) to register and select "Join the Eden Group." You can type anything as she will not actually check your spelling. She will give you the following items:

• 15 Pieces of Lv 10 Blessing Scroll (opens in a new tab)
• 15 Pieces of Lv 10 Increase Agility Scroll (opens in a new tab)
• 5 Pieces of Yellow Butterfly Wing (opens in a new tab)
• 1 Piece of Eden Group Mark (opens in a new tab)

⚬ Your First Instance

• After completing the tutorial, it is recommended that you have your first adventure in an instance called 🏞️ Poring Village!
• Farming at Poring Village instance rewards players with Festival Coins (opens in a new tab)
  reedemable via the 🎪 Festival Manager (opens in a new tab)!
• Congratulations! You’re now equipped with the basics and ready to explore the world of OriginRO.

🐧 Shorty: The Origin Guide

This quest or instance can be repeated.

This quest or instance has a 30 minutes cooldown period.

Shorty is a dynamic NPC designed to accompany new players on World of Dreams up to level 71, providing useful in-game information, buffs, and guidance.

Origin Guide: You can summon Shorty via the Help Me Shorty (opens in a new tab) item.
🚩 Note: Alternatively, you may use the Origin Scroll to summon Shorty.

📜 Features of Shorty

• Buffs: Shorty offers 40-minute buffs including Increased Agility (opens in a new tab), Blessing (opens in a new tab), Assumptio (opens in a new tab), and more.
• Guidance: Players can learn essential gameplay mechanics, such as stats, skills, and navigation.
• Interactive Help: Players can summon Shorty anytime using the Help Me Shorty item to access tips, warps to NPCs, or buffs.

🎩 Beginner Costume Quest

• Level Requirement: At level 31, players can take Shorty to Payon’s Inn to meet Salty and complete a quest.
• Rewards: Upon quest completion, players receive the Galapago Cap Costume (opens in a new tab) and EXP rewards.

📌 Important Note: Shorty will depart permanently after reaching level 71 or upon selecting the “Break Up” option.

📦 Origin Care Box

The Origin Care Box system ensures players are well-supported every step of their journey. Boxes are awarded every 5 levels starting from level 5 to 95, providing a total of 19 boxes. These contain progressively better rewards, all of which are character-bound, ensuring fairness and progression integrity.

• Awakening Potion (opens in a new tab): Further increases attack speed.
• Berserk Potion (opens in a new tab): Grants the highest attack speed boost.

• Orange Potion Box (opens in a new tab): Contains 20 Orange Potions.
• Yellow Potion Box (opens in a new tab): Contains 20 Yellow Potions.
• White Potion Box (opens in a new tab): Contains 20 White Potions.
